VW and Skoda working on launching more SUVs in the Indian market coming three years, built on a heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform.

Skoda Auto India and Volkswagen Auto India PVT LTD planning to launch more than 10 SUVs for the Indian market in the next three years. While, over the last few years on the project “India 2.0” Skoda and Volkswagen have invested Billion of Euros and most products will be based on the Heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform and will get aggressive price range as well, in the most competitive segment like Compact SUV, Mid-Size SUV. First Up Skoda will be launching its Mid-Size SUV Kushaq, which the manufacturer has recently wraps off the cover from its production version.

First, the Kushaq was Showcased back in the 2020 Auto Expo named VISION IN concept. While on the other hand, Volkswagen prepared to launch Tiguan and Taigun in the coming months as the German manufacturer also unveiled the production version recently in a teaser video and few officially released images. While both the products will be powered with 1.0 Litre 3-cylidner turbo petrol and 1.5 Litre 4-cylidner turbo petrol. With Kushaq Crenzh manufacturer also unveiled the New-Gen Octavia domestically and will be launching this month itself, along with globally unveiled Kodiaq facelift which is also heading for the Indian market at the early of the next year 2022.

Skoda and Volkswagen are also designing the replacement for their mid-Size Sedan Vento and Rapid. The Vento’s could be based on global German brand product Virtus in terms of designs and both the cars will be based on MQB A0 IN platform and will compete with sedans like Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Honda City, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Volkswagen recently open up bookings for their SUV T-Roc second lot which is brought through the CBU route, and it is expected that Skoda could also bring Karoq as well and both the crossover SUVs will be powered with 1.5 Litre turbocharged TSI petrol engine, rated at 150 PS and 250 Nm.
