Toyota motors India recently launched their Indians first sub-4m SUV named as Urban cruiser, which is a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Both cars are powered with same 1.5L petrol naturally aspirated engine. It was launched with 6 different variants line-up. The biggest competitor for urban cruiser is its twin Vitara Brezza.

The base variant for Toyota urban cruiser is Rs 5,000 costlier than base variant of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, as the entry level model for Toyota urban cruiser is Mid-MT which costs Rs 8.40 lakh whereas the Vitara Brezza entry-level model is VXi MT which costs Rs 8.35 lakh. The high MT and premium MT are Rs 5,000 more  expensive as compared with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza ZXi MT and ZXI+ MT respectively, these variants of Urban cruiser costs Rs 9.15 lakh and Rs 9.80 lakh.

Toyota urban cruiser’s variant line-up offers an extra automatic transmission option with premium AT Which cost Rs 11.30 lakh. As per for Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza its automatic transmission line-up is VXi AT, ZXi AT and ZXI+ AT. These variants costs Rs 9.75 lakh, Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 11.15 lakh, and when compared, with Toyota urban cruiser these variants costs Rs 5,000 less than the automatic transmission offering for the cruiser line-up.
