The recently launched Toyota Raize SUV has taken the Indonesian market by storm, with over 1,269 bookings in just one week of its launch. The Toyota Raize was launched on 30th April 2021 alongside its doppelganger Daihatsu Rocky which mimics its mechanical specifications to a certain point.
The Toyota Raize is currently available at a price tag of 219.9 million IDR for the base version and can go up to 263.7 million IDR for the top trim version (Rs. 11.20 lakh to Rs. 13.40 lakh). The SUV comes in a total of three variants – the 1.2G, 1.0G and 1.0GR. talking about the specifications of these variants, the base 1.2G variant comes with a 1.2-litre 3-pot naturally aspirated engine that can generate up to maximum power of 88 PS along with a maximum torque of 113 Nm.
The 1.0G is a 1.0-litre 3-pot turbocharged petrol engine which can generate up to maximum power of 98 PS along with maximum torque of 140 Nm, both these engines come mated with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed CVT option. Talking about the top-spec 1.0GR Sport variant which also packs the same engine specifications as the 1.0G but only comes with the CVT option.
An interesting fact revealed about the booking by Toyota is that around 43% of booking amongst the received ones are of the GR Sport trim, which is intriguing because in normal scenarios people tend to go for the base trim rather than the top ones. And for the others, the 1.0G CVT garnered 11% of the booking while the 1.0G MT received only 5% booking. One more thing to be noted is that the bookings of the real base trim 1.2G hasn’t begun yet so no data for it is in place and as for right now the 1.0G MT is acting as the temporary base trim for the car.
