Toyota Kirloskar Motors India recorded 92 percent sales growth on a year-on-year basis in Jan 2021, thanks to facelift Fortuner and Innova Crysta.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors India ends the CY2020 on high and starts the new calendar year 2021 with a bang getting 92 percent positive sales growth on a year-on-year basis. The automaker garnered 11,126 units against 5,804 units in the same period on Jan 2020. The Facelifted Innova make their debut in November 2020. To increase the life-span of second-generation Innova, Toyota made few changes to the model including new diamond cut alloys, new grille housing, some mere interior changes, new paint schemes, and so on. The premium MPV Innova Crysta finished as the top-selling product for the brand in Jan 2021.

Toyota Urban cruiser rebaged version of Vitara Brezza

Innova Crysta facelift recorded 3,939 units against 2,575 units in the same period in Jan 2020, with 53 percent positive sales growth. Rebadged version of Maruti Vitara breeza premium compact SUV, Toyota urban cruiser finished at second place with 3,005 units sold last month. Another rebadged version of the top-selling hatchback Baleno also received and well accepted by the customers. The Toyota Glanza finished at third place with 2,556 units against 2,191 units in the same corresponding period in Jan 2020, with 17 percent positive sales growth. Both Glanza and urban cruiser turns out to be the major factor in Toyota sales volume, and the deal benefiting Toyota as well as Maruti Suzuki. Their combined sales have cross past the 50,000 units mark as well.

Toyota Fortuner facelift All black TRD edition

The King of Full-Size SUV segment Toyota Fortuner finished last month at 4th +position with more than 1,169 units were sold last month courtesy of facelift version which was launched with a starting price of Rs 30 lakhs (ex-showroom). The facelift version comes with a new updated grille, redesigned fog lamp housing, in addition to a 2.8-liter diesel engine that gained a major mechanical update as well. Fortuner started the new calendar year 2021 with 413 percent positive sales volume. The Yaris posted 412 units against 725 units in Jan 2021, with a 43 percent decline in sales volume. While only 45 units were dispatched of Camry hybrid.
