It has been less than a month to the launch of the much-loved Toyota Fortuner and in such a short period of time, the car has already crossed over 5k bookings as announced by the carmakers. The new 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift is the first upgrade to the car since the launch in 2016 and with addition to this facelift, the company also provide a range-topping variant with the Fortuner Legender which can also be termed as a premium version of the Fortuner facelift with minor exterior and interior changes, however, the Legender only comes with a 4×2 drive option which might be a letdown for some customers.
The new Fortuner facelift comes in a total of 8 colours – Super white, Phantom Brown, Crystal Shine, Avantgarde bronze, Sparkling Black, Attitude Black, White Pearl Grey Metallic, and Crystal Shine Metallic. However, the premium Fortuner Legender only comes in a single colour variant – Pearl white with black roof and for the interior it will again be getting a dual-tone Back-maroon colour.
The difference between both the cars are very minor like a bigger and spottier bumper, sleek designed split headlamps, contrasting roof, new smaller grille, and new designed blacked-out fog lamp housing
As for the engine options, the Fortuner facelift comes in a total of 2 option. First is the 2.7-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 165PS of power and peak torque of 245Nm, coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox with the only option of 4×2 rear-wheel drive option. Secondly, a 2.8-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine producing upto 203PS of power and 500Nm of torque, coupled with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox with the option of 4×4 wheel drive. The Fortuner 2021 is retailed between Rs 29.98 lakhs for the base petrol variant and Rs 37.58 lakh for the 4×4 featured pack variant.
