Toyota recently updated its Fortuner with a mid-cycle update with some exterior and interior changes, and not long after we have started getting spy shots of the next Gen Toyota Fortuner which will be making its global debut till the end of 2022 and will be making its way towards the Indian market in early 2023. The upcoming upgrade to the Fortuner will mark as the 3rd generation upgrade to the car since its launch back in 2009. However, the car has been the best in its class from the start outclassing the likes of Ford Endeavor, which is its archnemesis in India.
Talking about what we can figure out from the heavily camouflaged Fortuner, the exterior reflects n change at all, unlike the mid-cycle update which reflects that the upcoming Toyota Fortuner 2022 will have changes focus on its interior and features rather than the exterior design. However, minor changes could be a possibility that only will be revealed at the time of reveal. The only visible change here is the large air vents at the front that gives a feel like the current top-end Fortuner Legender and the bright red coloured brake callipers in the front wheels.
The biggest update the car is meant to be getting will be the upgradation of the regular diesel engines that as of now is offered in both 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre variants to be upgraded to new hybrid technology which not only will make the developers jobs easy as they need to design engines separately according to the country’s pollution norms and also will make the performance of the car much better both in terms of mileage and power production and will most likely be offered in both 4X2 and 4X4 drive options.
