Toyota earlier teased the new Aygo X Prologue with hints of its exterior design and the all the internet went gaga over speculations of the car being a new Toyota EV, but today the company revealed the actual concept look of the new Toyota Aygo X Prologue. The Aygo X is no way similar to any car Toyota has ever produced, but will have to say the company did a splendid job with styling of the car.
Toyota too is starting to shift its focus from the hatchback and sedan segments to the now widely loved and bought SUV segment. However, the existing model of the Toyota Aygo is a hatchback with similarities to the Citroen C1 but with both the companies Toyota and its French counterpart calling quits on the tie up, the company is free to experiment to its new releases.
Being a concept the Toyota Aygo X Prologue’s designing may be a bit over exaggerated with elements like the new funky headlamp setup connected via tick lighting tube to both ends, a low placed blacked out grille which even sits below the bumper line, wide muscular wheel arcs with broad glossy black cladding with large 18 inch alloy wheels, and door handles which retract when the vehicle starts moving to give better aerodynamics, an all round dual tone finish starting from the A-pillar till the rear gate.
Some other features which might not make the final cut can be a frameless designing which is possible with the missing B-pillar, built-in camera behind the wing mirrors, a similar design concept for the tail light as of the front headlamps, roof mounted spoiler, and chrome roof rails.
The interior of the Toyota Aygo X Prologue concept still remains a mystery as Toyota hasn’t revealed any specification regarding the interior as well as the powertrain options which the car will be coming with. However, the information known to us is that the car will be launched somewhere in late 2021 or early 2022 depending on the circumstances.
