After a long period of speculations, Yamaha has finally launched the new generation of R15 in the Indian market a few days ago along with the M variant. The newly launched R15 is the fourth generation of Yamaha’s Supersports bike edition in India featuring tons of advanced technologies, electronics, and larger heavier engine power. While compared to its predecessor models it has got some notable updates as well. So, here we put together the Top 5 things to know about Yamaha R15 V4 and R15M: –
- Styling and designing
The styling and design are nearly the same with some subtle changes. It comprises new bi-functional electronics along with LED taillights, LED DRLs, LED headlamps, new front fairing. The front fairing is larger compared to its previous models along with larger air ducts at the front. While the rear profile is more and comes to the same as its previous model identical to R15 V3.0 and features sleek looking taillight inspired from Yamaha R1.
- Updated instrument cluster
The Yamaha R15 V4 gets a newly updated instrument cluster. It comprises of digital tachometer enable with Bluetooth connectivity which helps to know call and SMS alerts as well as the phone battery percentage. That being said it also has a lap timer on it. Yamaha R15 V4 comes with two riding modes – Street and track. While, the Y-connect app on the phone has added features more like fuel composition tracker, maintenance recordation, last parking spot location, and malfunction notifications. It also displays many features which are not enabled on instrument clusters of bikes like RPM, rate of acceleration, real-time fuel consumption, etc.
- Enable with traction control
The New Yamaha R15 V4 is available with a standard traction control system which makes it the first bike to offer this safety feature at this price band.
- Quick shifter
For the first time, Quick shifter is offered with Yamaha R15 V4 as an optional with blue color while for the R15M variant it will come as standard.
The Yamaha R15 V4 comes priced from Rs 1.67 lakh, although R15M comes priced from Rs 1.77 lakh. The limited-edition MotoGP edition is also offered which costs Rs 1.79 lakh. The R15 V3 was previously retailed between Rs 1.57 lakh – Rs 1.59 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom).
