Hyundai Motors recently revealed the production-ready version of a 3-row SUV named Alcazar. The vehicle is based on the same philosophy of the 2-row SUV Creta, and shares the same underpinning as well, although an additional 3-row increase the wheelbase of Alcazar compared with Creta. Upon the launch, the vehicle will rival Tata Safari and the upcoming Jeep 3-row SUV commander. In recent times a lot of buyers are looking for 6- and 7-seater SUV’s and many brands have already introduced their 3-row Mid-Size SUVs in the market. Hyundai is hoping to grab and attract more buyers towards their new launch Alcazar. Here we put together the Top 5 things to know about 3-row SUV Hyundai Alcazar before its official launch: –

  • Longer Wheelbase compared with Creta

The Alcazar has a 2760 mm wheelbase in length, which is 150 mm longer compared with the Hyundai Creta. The interesting fact about this wheelbase is it is undercutting its biggest rivals like Tata Safari (2741 mm long), and Mahindra XUV500 (2700 mm long) as well in terms of wheelbase. As being said, the longer wheelbase provides better interior legroom along with more spacious than its rivals.

  • Panoramic Sunroof and 360-degree camera

As in New-Gen of Hyundai Creta, a big panoramic sunroof is also placed in upcoming Alcazar which gives a premium touch and airier cabin in the SUV, which loved by the customers and it is a trending feature in the Indian market, every manufacturer placing a panoramic sunroof in their upcoming future launches. Other than that, Hyundai also providing a 360-degree camera too easy to maneuver into tight spaces.

  • Powertrain

Hyundai Alcazar comes powered with both diesel and petrol engines, 2.0 Litre turbo petrol mil,l, and 1.5 Litre oil burner mill. The former develops 159 PS of maximum power and 192 Nm of peak torque, and the latter rated at 115 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The 1.5 Litre Oil burner is borrowed from Creta but in a little tweak form and the 2.0 Litre NA petrol mill is also being used in, Hyundai Tucson and Elantra but tweaked slightly for Alcazar. The engines are offered with two transmission options – standard 6-speed MT and an optional 6-Speed Automatic transmission gearbox system.

  • Expected price Upon launch

Hyundai Alcazar likely to be priced between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 20 lakh ex-showroom, and upon launch the SUV rivals with top products like Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, and MG Hector plus. However, if this would be the case then it could also compete in the MPV segment with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Maruti Suzuki Nexa XL6, Mahindra Marazzo, and Segment top contender Toyota Innova Crysta as well.
