Yamaha Motor India has been working to launch its new R15 V4 variant in the Indian market. While ahead of its launch the test mules of Yamaha R15 V4 have been spotted on roads. While according to the spy shots we can get the view about visual updates and changes on the motorcycle production form. The Yamaha YZF-R15 is a highly popular sportbike in the Indian market and has been in India since 2008. Here, we put together the top 5 things about the upcoming Yamaha R15 V4 by looking at its production-ready test mules: –
- Wider Clip-ons
The Rider seen in the test mules has been seating more forward courtesy of clip-on handlebars giving a rider’s an aggressive riding posture. Apart from that clip-on gives wider leverage for the rider to move around easily.
- New Exhaust
While it appears that the test mules aren’t the final production-ready version. The bike seen in the image seems to get a heat shield tip on the newly designed exhaust pipe. The upswept exhaust system isn’t the same as the ongoing model as they look at radical departure.
- R7 like front End
The rear end of the Yamaha R15 V4 remains the same as V3 but at the front, it gets a dual-LED headlamp setup ditched in favor of a single LED projector as in the latest edition of R7. It also gets a new set of LED DRLs.
- Same engine
Yamaha could use the same 155 ccs single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine with variable valve actuation technology same and has the same redlined characteristics. As of now, no changes have been expected in the powertrain. The engine could couple with a 6-speed transmission gearbox system paired with a standard slipper clutch.
- Launch expected timeline
It is expected that Yamaha R15 V4 could get launch in India in early next year, and offer a dual-channel ABS. The digital cluster comes enabled with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation system new visual graphics, and so on.
