Maruti Suzuki WagonR was the most sold car in the financial year 2022 as 1,88,838 units were sold against 1,60,330 units sold in the last financial year-on-year volume surge of 17.7%. So here we bring you the top 10 cars sold in the financial year 2022.
In the financial year, 2021 to 2022 Maruti Suzuki had the WagonR as the top-selling model in the Indian market with a year-on-year sales growth of 17.7% as it beat its siblings swift Baleno and Alto. The swift compact hatchback registered a total of 1,67,827 units as against 1,72,671 units from April 2020 to March 2021. With year-on-year sales growth of 2.8%.
The Baleno comes at the 3rd most sold vehicle in last financial year with a total of 1,46,183 units as against 1,63,445 units in last financial year with year-on-year volume sales declined by 10.5%. The entry-level hatchback Alto finished at 4th position with 1,45,167 units against 1,58,992 units with year-on-year degrowth or negative sales growth of 8.7%. The sedan Dzire recorded a total of 1,26,792 units as against 1,28,251 units with year one-year degrowth of 1.1% and continued to be the most sold sedan in the country.

The 6th position is taken by Tata’s most sold SUV Nexon with 1,24,130 units sold against 63,757 units sold in the last financial year with massive year on year growth of 94.6% the highest for any model within the top 10 cars. The compact SUV was the most sold as it outsold Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The Creta midsize SUV finished at 7 positions with 1,18,092 units against 1,20,035 units during the last financial year with a year-on-year sales drop of 1.6%.
The Maruti Suzuki MPV Ertiga ended at 8 positions as the most sold MPV in India with 1,17,150 units as against 88,571 units with year-on-year growth of 32.2%. 9th position is taken by another Maruti Suzuki SUV Vitara Brezza with 1,13,711 units as against 94,635 units with year-on-year sales growth of 20.1%. 10th position is taken by Maruti Suzuki Eeco with 1,08,345 units against 1,05,081 units with year-on-year minor growth of 3.1%.
