Tata PUNCH’s upcoming first-ever Micro-SUV from the homegrown brand is scheduled to launch on 4th October 2021. Ahead of its launch official and unofficial images and details have been leaked throughout last month. Many images and walkarounds are coming from the dealership’s Stockyard. It is based on the ALFA platform which also underpins the Altroz premium hatchback. While as compared to Altroz PUNCH will likely feature with higher ground clearance, more boot space, decent departure angle, and so on. Now Tata PUNCH base XE variant images and design leaked ahead of launch tomorrow. While looking at the exterior design the base variant doesn’t seem to have many changes on the outside.
However, the interior images haven’t been leaked only outside design is seen. At the front the SUV continues to feature with same piano black finish grille, chrome finish corporate logo in the middle. Apart from the below air dam seems to be same. The notable thing on the front is the base variant XE doesn’t include fog lamps. While this one is featured with pure white color. While for the color options the base variant is likely to be offered with White, grey, and Stonehenge, according to a previously leaked list of colors and trims. As for performance, the Micro-SUV is likely to be offered with two petrol engine options. One is a 1.2 Litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2 Litre iTurbo charged engine available with Altroz.
The former generates 86 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque and the latter develops 108 PS of maximum power and 140 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain comes paired with 5-speed MT and optional 5-speed Amt (automatic manual transmission gearbox). The PUNCH will also boast engine start/stop technology, fog lamps with cornering lights, brake sway way control. The Boot will have a bigger boot space compared to Altroz around 366 liters, along with a flat floor at the rear end and a 90-degree door opening. The ground clearance is around 187 mm, which gives the SUV decent road capability. Tata PUNCH will be offered in three trims Adventure, accomplished, and creative. However, Adventure and Creative offered with MT and AMT but accomplished only offered with sole MT.
