Tata Nexon has been the best-selling Tata car for quite some time all thanks to the plethora of features the car comes with along with the 5-star NCAP rating which provides a sense of safety to the buyer. The car also is available in three fuel types – petrol, diesel and even as an EV although there are some complaints regarding that which has already been covered in some previous articles. However, all that goodness makes Tata Nexon the best-selling Tata car. The Nexon in June 2021 managed to cross over 8k unit sales (8,033 units) compared to May 2021 sales of 3,040 units making YoY growth of a whopping 164%.

The sales for May 2021 stood at 6,439 which is a great number considering the scenario all the industries were in due to the lockdown implemented by almost every state in India that not only halted the production line but also made the customer rethink the investment in every commodity except for essential items. Tata Nexon on an MoM basic managed to achieve a growth of 24%.

Tata has recently launched a black edition of the Nexon along with the same for Altroz and Harrier. The car comes with an all-black body which includes the paint, the chrome highlights which are now blacked out, alloy wheels, seat covers and many other parts. However, the engine still remains the same.

The powertrain offered with the Nexon are the 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine which can generate up to maximum power of 118 bhp and a maximum torque of 170 Nm, and the 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine which can generate up to maximum power of 108 bhp along with maximum torque up to 260 Nm. both these engines comes mated along with either a 6-speed MT option or a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
