Tata Motors, a part of Tata Group is a Multinational Automotive Company (MNC). Its headquarter is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It has many manufacturing and assembly plants in various countries including several in India. Also, it has many research and development labs in India, South Korea, Britain and in Spain as well. Not long ago, in 2008 Tata Motors acquired Jaguar Land Rover Company which makes premium Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. Before that in 2004 it bought South Korean commercial vehicle Company Daewoo, a truck manufacturing company.

Legacy and line-up:

Tata Motors was established in 1945 as a locomotive manufacturer. At the time, it was Known as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO) which coverted into Tata Motors in 2003. This company deals in Trucks, Buses, Passenger Cars, Locomotives, Van, Coaches, construction Equipment, Sports cars and Military vehicles as well. Tata Motors in collabortion with Daimler-Benz AG launched thier first commercial vehicle in 1954 . In 1988 Tata Motors launched its first passenger vehicle and since then it has been in passenger vehicle competition. The launch of Tata Indica in 1998 got a hold in passenger vehicle market for the company. Also from this company, came Tata Nano in 2008 which holds the record for the cheapest car in the world.

Tata is known for its build quality and safety and they have one of the safest vehicles in the market.  Currently Tata has a line-up of 5 vehicles which are being retailed in the showrooms. All of these cars have either 4 or 5-star rating in Global NCAP Crash test which makes them the safest vehicle of their segment. Tata has a car in most of the segments and these cars are one the most popular and demanded vehicle in India. This has helped the first Indian automaker to reach Third position in Indian Market after Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motors.
