Tata Motors India has recorded a good sales growth in the second half of 2020 and finished at the third-largest car manufacturer in December 2020 sales chart.

Tata Motors India stood at the third position in the overall manufacturer chart, with the help of Tata Nexon, Tata Altroz, Tata Tiago, Tata Harrier, and Tata tigor. The home-grown manufacturer posted a total domestic sale tally of 23,546 units in December 2020, as against 12,785 units in the same period in 2019 getting a massive 84 percent volume sales growth. In early 2020, Tata Motors has introduced many new car model versions, like Nexon facelift, Tiago, Tigor, alongside with all-new compact hatchback Tata Altroz and Electric version of Nexon.
The Zero-emission Nexon finished at the top of the electric vehicle sales chart in 2020, with 2,529 units and 63.2 electric vehicle market share ahead of MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona, Tata tigor EV, and Mahindra eVerito. The Tata Nexon finished at the top of the tata brand sales chart in December 2020 with 6,835 units were sold as against 4,350 units in the same period in the year 2019, with huge 57 percent positive sales growth. Recently launched compact hatchback Altroz sales steadily increasing, although with tough competition from Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and New-Generation Hyundai i20. Since the launch premium hatchback posted 6,600 units last month to slot ahead of Tiago.
Tata’s most affordable offering Tiago registered 6,066 units as against 4,558 units during the same period in 2019 with a 33 percent sales increase. After Tiago, tata harrier recorded 2,223 units last month as against 1,458 units were sold in the same period in 2019 with 52 percent positive sales growth. While the tigor compact sedan finished at the fifth position below Harrier with a 23 percent positive sales increase as 1,822 units sold against 1,487 units in December 2019. Tata already started the year with a bang by unveiling and launching, Tata Altroz ITurbo and tata’s flagship SUV Tata Safari on 22 January and 26 January 2020. In the second half of 2021, Tata’s Micro-SUV HBX production version will be revealed as well.
