Tata Altroz after having a lot of success in the hatchback segment, with only one thing that lags Altroz in the segment a turbo engine.
- Tata launching new turbo variant in altroz trim line
- Turbo Altroz has been spotted multiple times on road test with camouflage
- It will be launched with 1.2 litre Revotron turbocharged engine
Now Tata is launching their premium hatchback with a turbocharged petrol engine on 13th January 2021. Its turbo-charged altroz has been spied on-road testing several times, with too san camouflage and badging of turbo at the rear end. As earlier seen from the spied images, other than turbo engine no cosmetics changes are been made, apart from Turbo badging at the rear end. Although it may come with a subtle change in the interior space. Also, the Turbo trim range offers new color shades, like blue.
Tata Altroz turbo will be powered by a 1.2-liter Revotron turbocharged petrol engine, the same as the one offered in a Nexon petrol compact SUV. On Nexon this engine develops, 118 BHP of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque. But for Altroz it will slightly generate less, in comparison with Nexon. Although the transmission system not yet been revealed it is expected to come with a 5-speed manual and an optional 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox system. As of now, Tata offers Altroz with the same 3-pot petrol unit in a naturally aspirated form, rated as 85 BHP of power and 113 Nm of torque. It is also coming with a 1.5-liter diesel engine, which develops 89 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque.
Tata retails Altroz turbo with 4 trim options, XT, XT(O), XZ, and XZ(O). The expected Turbo line prices starting from Rs 7.99 lakh for XT trim and Rs 8.75 lakh for XZ(O) trim manual. DCT turbo Altroz expected priced at Rs 10 lakh, which will undercut their rivals’ price for DCT transmission like Polo TSi as well as Hyundai I20 Turbo DCT price range for the top variant is Rs 11.32 lakhs ex-showroom. Altroz is the only hatchback available in India with a 5-star global NCAP safety rating.
