Aprilia SXR 160 was recently introduced in the Indian market, and it rivals the likes of Suzuki Burgman Street 125. Here is the specifications comparison between the top two scooters in offering currently.

Aprilia brand’s scooters are always fun to ride, comfortable, and also the unique designs. The company introduced SXR160 a few weeks ago, and bookings are open. The SXR 160 comes with the same engine as SR160. Currently, the only maxi-scooter available in the Indian market is Suzuki’s Burgman Street 125. In terms of designing and styling, both the scooters got the retro design onlookers, but Aprilia did a good job there. The SXR 160 has very well proportionate 12-inch wheels and a good wheelbase, as Suzuki has a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheel, with long rear overhang, it doesn’t actually mean a bad thing, but SXR160 overshadow Suzuki street 125 in terms of looks.

In terms of equipment, both comes covered with a lot of similar features, like LED headlamps, taillights, Disc brake at the front, telescopic suspension at the front, and monoscopic at the rear. The Aprilia SXR 160 has an additional feature of single-channel ABS, although the disappointing part is that both don’t equip with an external fuel-filler cap. Both these Scooters offer a smartphone charging USB feature, comes with an LCD digital instrument cluster, although the Aprilia got larger and easy to read the screen. The Suzuki Burgman street 125 offers Bluetooth connectivity in their variant line but Aprilia offers it as an optional extra feature.

In terms of the drivetrain option, both are very different from each other. The Aprilia SXR 160, powered with a 160cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, which generates 10.9 PS of peak power and 11.6 Nm of peak torque. As for Suzuki Burgman Street 125, it is powered with a 124cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder which generates 8.7 PS of peak power and 10 Nm of peak torque. Aprilia retails SXR 160 with a price tag of Rs 1.25 lakh ex-showroom, while Suzuki retails Burgman Street 125 with a price tag of Rs 81,100 ex-showroom. If we talk about value for money then you should go for Suzuki maxi-Scooter, but the high pricing of Aprilia justifies their higher price tag with bigger engines and better equipment. If you have the budget then you definitely go for the Aprilia SXR 160 because it has the power and comes equipped with a well-known features list.
