Renault Sales March 2021

As of now Renault only has four cars for the Indian car market offering, which are the most affordable Kwid, Triber, Duster and the recently launched Kiger. Amongst all of these, the main reason for these uphill sale figures is the launch of its new compact SUV Renault Kiger, which share many of its features from its cousin Nissan Magnite. And as the recent trend of compact SUVs is action this success is no way near its peak.

The Renault Kiger starts at Rs. 5.45 lakh and goes up to Rs.9.72 lakh, this makes the car, the most affordable SUV in India, undercutting the earlier most affordable SUV, the Nissan Magnite by a margin of mere Rs. 4,000. The Kiger is offered in 2 engine variant options first being the non-turbo 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing a max power output of 72 PS and a max Torque output of 96 Nm, and for the second a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing a max power output of 100 PS and a max torque output of 160 Nm. While both the types are coupled via either a 5-speed MT or 5-speed AT gearbox.
