Renault India motors have recorded a decline of 18 percent in their December 2020 sales. With less than 10,000 units were dispatched.

While the end of year sales was bringing more positive growths to many mass manufacturers in India, Renault motors India has faced a decline in their sales figures. The French carmakers have hit with a slow down of year-end slowdown and few discontinuations of their products in the Indian market. Models named Captur, lodgy, has played a little role in slowing down their sales numbers. In December 2020 Renault India has managed to sell a total of 9,800 units as against 11,964 units in December 2019, with a sales decline of 18.09 percent on a year-on-year basis. On a month-on-month basis sales de-growth by 3.74 percent, as against 10,818 units were sold in November 2020.
Even though the Renault motors sales have decline still it sits at the sixth position in the overall brand’s sales chart for December 2020, just under Maruti, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, and Kia motors. Although the company stood at the same position in November 2020 but occupied the fifth position in November 2019. As many mass manufacturers launching their Sub-4m compact SUVs, Renault motors India also going to launch their Sub-4m SUV named Kiger this year. Kiger uses the same platform, used by Renault Triber, and recently launched Nissan Magnite. It will likely to rival the likes of, Hyundai venue, Kia Sonet, XUV300, Ford Ecosport, KUV100, Tata Nexon.
Currently, Renault motors offer only 3 cars, Kwid, Triber, Duster. In the Indian market, Renault’s most affordable car in their arsenal is Kwid. This crossover hatchback offered with a 2-engine option, 0.8 Litre and 1.0 Litre petrol engine. Its price ranges from Rs 2.99 lakhs for the base model and Rs 5.12 lakhs for the top-end trim model. Other than this Renault entry-level MPV is Triber, which is priced at Rs 5.12 lakhs for the base and RS 7.34 lakhs for top-end trim. Renault Triber is currently the most affordable 7-seater vehicle in the segment, it offers only a 1.0 Litre petrol unit.
Renault Duster is the flagship car in the line-up, it has been in the Indian market for over a decade and still in its first generation. Duster is the only SUV in for Renault that offers a turbocharged engine. Despite the 2nd generation has been launched in the international market and we hope to see new-generation duster in the Indian market soon.
