In March 2022 Tata Motors sold over 10k+ units of mini-SUV punch in the Indian market which is quite impressive sales performance as the SUV was launched just last year and is well received by customers in the domestic market.
Tata punch was launched back in October last year as already being one of the most popular cars in the domestic market. In March 2022 a total of 10K+ units of the subcompact SUV were sold in the domestic market meeting making it the 4th highest selling SUV for the month. In February 2020 the sales figures of Tata PUNCH dispatched 9592 units which translates to month-on-month growth of 9.74% in comparison to March 2022. As the little crossover hasn’t been for say on sale for long there is no year-on-year sales comparison.
Currently Tata offered punch with a single-engine option which is a 1.2 liter 3 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 86 HP of maximum power and 113 Nm peak torque when coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed automatic manual transmission. While the features offered with standard punches idle Start-Stop system which helps to boost the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
Although in the coming month Tata Motors is expected to add a 1.1.2-literurbo petrol engine option to punch likely to be the same as offered in Tata premium hatchback Altroz. Other than that, an electric version of the little SUV is also expected to be launched along with Altroz EV in the coming year. Most likely to be the affordable electric passenger car in the brand lineup when it launched in India.
Tata punches price quote comparatively in the Indian market which starts from 5,67,000 for the base pure variant and goes all the way up to 9,48,000 for the top and variant Ex-showroom New Delhi. It is available in 5 variants which are pure adventure accomplished creative and Kaziranga limited edition along with packages on offer for each variant as well. The SUV competes against Renault Nissan Magnite Hyundai venue Kia Sonet while also an alternative to hatchbacks like Maruti swift Hyundai grand I10 Maruti ignis and other cars.
