New-generation 2021 Isuzu D-Max launched in Malaysia with a host of changes and enhancements compared with the ongoing version.

Isuzu announced the launch of its third-generation D-Max pick-up truck in Malaysia. The third-generation model was showcased back in 2019, and today it made its debut in Malaysia with a host of enhancements and updates. It is offered in seven variants with prices ranging from RM89,000 for the entry-level variant and which goes up to RM142,000 for the top-end variant, converted at INR Rs 15 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. The new-generation D-Max shares its underpinnings with the newly built DDP platform with improved structure, stability, rigidity, and Lowered NVH levels.

2021 isuzu D-max pick-up truck variants

The pickup truck will be brought through the CBU route in the country and according to reports in the future the local assembly will also be done in Malaysia. The truck offered with a five-year warranty or a 1.5 lakh km standard warranty. Although, with a seven-year warranty the top-end variant Twin cab X-Terrian 3.0 liter diesel 4×4 positioned at the top of the line. New-generation Isuzu D-Max competes against a host of trucks which includes Nissan Navara Pro 4x, Mitsubishi triton Athlete, Ford Ranger wild track, and Toyota Hilux 2.8 Rouge AT.

As for performance, D-Max comes powered with two engine option – 1.9 Litre four-cylinder oil burner with refined VGT and better throttle response, that belts out 150 PS of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The second is the same 3.0 Litre diesel engine with an updated turbocharger and engine head, which generates 190 PS of maximum power and 450 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain coupled with an updated 6-speed MT and an optional 6-speed automatic transmission system. The Shift-by-wire 4×4 selector dial system is also newly built and comes as standard with all variants.
