Hyundai Motor limited India launched the first generation of Verna back in 2006, and just last year it gets a host of new updates and changes in the current generation version, launched in 2017. The Hyundai Verna facelift variant includes three engine options for the buyers that include both petrol and diesel. While seeing the competition in space Korean manufacturer planning to launch a new generation of Verna in the late next year as per reports. Currently, Verna competes against Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, Honda City, and segment King Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the Indian market.
Although, in recent years the popularity of C-Sedan space has been reduced, as more and more buyers going towards the more affordable and same price Compact-SUV’s. While, as per speculations the Japanese manufacturer Toyota is planning to launch the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the Indian market named as Toyota Belta in coming months and positioned at Yaris space. The new-generation Hyundai Verna could be using the latest sensuous sportiness Philosophy, along with a new platform with increased proportions for the airier cabin space.
Currently, Hyundai offered Veran with three engine options – a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine, a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine also used in New-generation Creta, and 1.0 Litre turbocharged petrol engine. The powertrain comes paired with multiple gearboxes, standard 6-speed manual transmission, 6-speed Torque convertor, 6-speed CVT, and 7-speed DCT automatic transmission system. As per reports company currently working on developing more EV platforms and engines not on new IC engines. That being said, New-generation Verna could continue to power with the same powertrain option.
