With the announcement of Hyundai Kona, the competition between the electric vehicle comprising the MG ZS EV and TATA Nexon EV is getting heated again. Recently the 2021 variant of Kona was announced for the Indian market which will be first launched in its hometown South Korea. The other two competitors haven’t gotten their updated version yet. So, let begin the competition between the Top electric vehicle MS ZS EV vs TATA Nexon and the Hyundai Kona 2021.
Hyundai Kona was first launched in 2017 in the home country of the company. After a couple of years, the Hyundai Kona was relaunched in its EV variant. It was also the country’s 1st electric car. After the launch in its hometown, it was then the car was launched worldwide. The 2021 variant of the Kona is the first upgrade to the old Kona.
The TATA Nexon made its debut in Auto Expo 2014 as a prototype. After which the production ready model was introduced in 2016. Tata Nexon is based on the revised TATA X1 platform that was used in the TATA Indica model. Nexon EV is still running with its year-old model with no upgrades scheduled for right now.
MG ZS was the second SUV made by the company MG motors. This car was first launched in April 2017. The MG ZS got its electric variant in 2018 where it was showcased at Guangzhou Auto Show. There it was know as the MG EZS and except of china the car is universally know as MG ZS EV. The was introduced in early 2020 in India and got overbooked in a few weeks. Although the company hasn’t been able to deliver a single unit till the end of this year.

The MG ZS EV is priced between Rs 20.88 lakh for base variant to Rs 23.58 lakh for the top variant. The TATA Nexon EV is priced between Rs 14.00 lakh for base variant to Rs 16.25 lakh for top variant. The old Hyundai Kona was priced between Rs 23.75 lakh to Rs 23.94 lakh and the New facelift of the Kona is assumed to be priced a bit higher than its predecessor.

here the competition is quite close with the MG ZS EV having a better battery and more power production but the tough competitor here is the Hyundai Kona EV both old and new having the same specifications but when compared to the MG ZS EV the Kona has a smaller battery with higher torque and better singe charge range.
