Earlier MG showcased the 3-row version of SUV in auto Expo 2020 and launched just after the Auto Expo in the Indian market. The earlier, brand launched it with a 6-seat arrangement, now the manufacturer is launching the 7-seat MG hector plus in January 2021, with a bench type seating setup in the middle. The Hector was the first product launched by MG in the Indian market, and the car gained popularity from the debut and giving decent sales numbers month on month. It is because of the extensive first in the segment features list, like voice recognition, internet inside, etc. MG felt that the same success can also be gained in the 3-row version of MG, which the company called an MG hector plus. Currently, MG retails Hector plus with a price ranging between Rs 13.73 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.68 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

The new version will also come between these price tags. Other than the added bench in middle, no changes are expected till now. It is expected to come with the same drivetrain option. MG offers hector plus with a 1.5-liter turbo charged petrol engine, which produces 143 HP of maximum power and 240 Nm of peak torque, and a 48V mild-hybrid version with this engine. Also, an FCA-sourced 2.0-liter diesel engine that rated a 170 HP of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties are done by a standard 6-speed manual gearbox, while the 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission comes in optional for a petrol engine.

The 7-seater hector plus will attract more customers with 3-row, and likely to rivals with the like of XUV500 facelift, Tata Gravitas, as well as the 3-row version of New Hyundai Creta which likely to be launch in the Mid-2021.
