The British supercar manufacturer McLaren is all set to enter Indian markets with its limited set of line-ups. According to the reports, McLaren will be setting up a dealership in India with its limited models very soon for which the official announcement will be held next week. And to strengthen these reports McLaren’s website now shows India as a Configurator, which means that “configurator enables a manufacturer to configure an existing product according to detailed customer specifications”, which in layman’s language means that India will be getting McLaren car based on the Indian specifications.
The reports also tell that McLaren will be posting up its only dealership in Mumbai due to the fact that the company is expecting very low sales for its line-up, which is pretty understandable assuming the cost of McLaren supercars with an addition of 200% of IGST. The dealership in Mumbai will be run by Infinity Cars, which run the majority of these luxury car brands like – Aston Martin, Mini, Porsche, BMW, Lamborghini and Rolls Royce. However, there is a chance that Infinity cars might be dropping any one of these brands from its portfolio to adjust McLaren.
The potential models that the company may be included in its Indian line-up are – the GT, Artura,720S and 720S Spyder. And like all the other luxury brand cars McLaren will also be importing its cars as CBU.
Talking about the company, McLaren cars are categorised into 4 segments – GT, Sport Series, Super Series and the Ultimate Series. And to be telling you in detail the GT segment only holds the McLaren GT, while the Sports Series consists of 540C, 570GT, 570S, 570S Spider, 600LT and 600LT Spider. For the Superseries the company only consists of 3 models namely – 720S, 720S Spider and 765LT. lastly, the Ultimate series consists of Senna, Senna GTR, Speedtail, Elva and also the upcoming Artura will also be a part of this segment.
