Maruti Suzuki India Limited has been the best-selling Indian car company for as long as we know, and with a lineup of more than 15 cars in the market, the carmaker still enjoys the top position overall other automobile companies. The company holds almost 50% of the 4-wheeler market share in India which even exceeds the second position holder Hyundai Motors by many folds. Currently, the best-selling car of Maruti Suzuki and all of India is the Wagon-R which regained its position of number one in sales in April 2021 after few weeks of dominance by the Maruti Suzuki Swift which finished at the second position this time.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R managed to sell a total of 18,656 units for the month of April 2021 and compared to the sales of 18,757 units made in March 2021, which also translates to a total MoM growth of -0.53%. However, this position for the last two months was occupied by the Maruti Suzuki Swift which for the last month recorded a sale of 18,316 units which compared to the sale of March 2021 that stood at 21,714 units, translating to an MoM growth of -15.64%.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R got its BS6 compliant variant in 2019 and as for now is available in two different engine options, the first being the 1.0-litre engine variant that can generate up to maximum power of 67 hp and maximum torque up to 90 Nm which comes mated with a standard 5-speed manual transmission, the second being the 1.2-litre engine variant that can generate maximum power up to 81 hp and a maximum torque up to 113 Nm and comes mated with an option of 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. Alongside these variants, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R also comes with three feature trim levels, namely – Lxi, VXi and ZXi. The CNG variant for the Wagon-R can also be purchased however the car will be losing some of its power and torque in exchange for better economy and fuel prices.

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R can generate an impressive mileage of 20.52-30.52 kmpl depending on the option you choose and is available with a price tag of Rs. 4.66 lakh for the base variant and goes up to Rs. 5.95 lakh for the top trim level.
