Maruti Suzuki, the largest Indian car manufacturer has today announced its March 2021 sales figures, which grossed a YoY sales growth of about 92% and sold a total of 1,67,014 units for the month of March 2021 compared to 83,792 units sold at the same period last year with almost twice the growth.

The domestic sale made by passenger vehicles along with Light Commercial vehicle translates out to be 1,49,518 units, while some units of Brezza and Baleno were sold to Toyota for conversion which accounted for a sale of 5,899 units. And 11,597 units were exported for sale in other countries which when compared to last year’s 2,104 units export is a massive jump.

While the sales for last year were majorly influenced by the COVID-19 situation, but towards the end of FY2020-21 companies recovered some of their losses with a total sale of 14,57,861 units which when compared to last year’s FY2019-20 sales of 15,63,297 units accounted in a YoY de-growth of 6.7%.

To go into specifics, the entry-level car like Alto and S-presso sold a total of 24,653 units compared to 15,988 units sold at the same time last year. While the sales number for cars like Swift, Wagon-R, Celerio, Ignis, Dzire, Baleno and Tour S were 82,201 units. While this for the mid-size Sedan Ciaz the year hasn’t brought any success and with the current SUV trend the result is going to be the same for the future.

For the utility range Ertigo, S-Cross, Brezza and XL6 the cumulative sales have been of 26,174 units, while for the Light Commercial vehicle Eeco this sale goes up to 11,547 units and for the super carry LCV this number got a massive sales to increase with a sales number of 3,315 unit last month compared to 736 units of last year.
