Maruti Suzuki India announced the sales figures for Feb 2021, in which they saw an 8.3 % growth in sales volume.

Maruti Suzuki India limited has revealed their sales figures for last month Feb 2021. Last month Maruti Suzuki records cumulative domestic sales of 1,47,483 units and adding it with exports figures it gets 1,64,469 units overall. Although, 11,486 units were export and 5,500 units in OEM supply to Toyota. As compared with the same period last year it gets 11.4 percent sales growth as 1,47,110 units were sold in Feb 2020. In this financial year, April 2020 to Feb 2021, the biggest car manufacturer posted 12,90,847 units against 14,79,505 units with a 12.8 percent sales Decline when both domestic and export sales are combined.

A major portion of the sales came from the mini compact segment as Alto and S-presso combined records a cumulative total sale of 23,959 units with 12.9 percent De-growth in the sales number. However, the entry-level compact models like Swift, Celerio, Baleno, Ignis, Dzire, Wagon-R, and Tour S garnered 80,157 units last month in Feb 2021 against 69,828 units with a 15.3 percent increase in sales volume. The Ciaz Mid-Size sedan which e=rivals with Honda City manages to gain only 1,510 units last month against 2,544 units in the same period last year with 40.6 percent De-growth in sales volume. Although, the utility range also seems a good sales growth last month.

The Mid-Size SUV and Compact SUV contributed a total of 26,884 units last month as against 22,604 units during the same period last year in Feb 2020, finishing the month with an 18.9 percent year-on-year increase in sales volume. The Eeco posted 11,891 units against 11,227 units during the same period in 2020 with 5.9 percent growth. The super carry was responsible for 2,722 units with a massive 507.69 percent increase in sales volume. Other than domestic sales, the Indo-Japanese manufacturer also supplied 5,500 in OEM to Toyota, of Vitara Brezza and Baleno for them to be rebadged as Toyota Urban cruiser and Toyota Glanza. Compared with Feb 2020, the OEM supplies saw an increment to 2,699 units with a 103.8 percent year-on-year sales growth. Recently, the brand has completed 2 million Export milestones, that started in 1987-88 FY.
