Even though the overall sales of Maruti Suzuki are down in Nov 2020, the Ertiga and XL6 MPV have managed to shown up substantial positive growth.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the largest car manufacturing brand in India, has posted an impressive sales growth yet again and finished at the top in many spaces. In Nov 2020 the company has managed to sell 1.35 lakh cars, although the brand has seen a drop of 2 percent in sales compared with last year Nov 2019. The manufacturer also managed to have good positive sales growth in their MPV space. In Nov 2020 Maruti retailed Ertiga a total of 9,557 units as against 7,537 units sold in the same period of time last year Nov 2019, with 26.8% positives sales growth on a YOY basis.

Making Maruti Suzuki Ertiga the bestselling MPV yet again. As for Nexa’s MPV XL6, it registered a total of 3,388 units sold last month, as against 2,295 units in the same period last year Nov 2019, with 57.35% sales growth on a year-on-year basis. Nexa retailed XL6, 2,439 units in October 2020, with 39.9% sales growth on a month-on-month basis. Maruti Suzuki recently getting a lot of success in their SUV section thanks not only to Ertiga and XL6 but the Brezza and S-cross as well. Further company is launching new 5 SUVs above Ertiga and XL6, to expand their SUV space in the Indian market.

The First of which will be launching next year in 2021, and expected to be an MPV launching above the XL6 trim line, and rivals with the likes of Mahindra Marazzo. The new vehicle will be sold under the brand name of Toyota in India. It will as an affordable alternative to Innova Crysta. Under Toyota, this new MPV will be priced premium as Vitara Brezza and urban cruiser. Ertiga and XL6 both are powered by a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated ‘K-series’ petrol engine, which develops 105 HP of maximum power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox includes a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission system. On the Ertiga customers also gets a CNG fitted option.
