Maruti Suzuki has been the dominating car brand in the automobile sector for the longest time with no one even coming close to its sales numbers, however, that wasn’t the case in the month of May. The carmaker suffered a massive 75% decline in its sales on an MoM basis in May compared to April but since last month cases of the coronavirus are on a steep decline and most of the states have already provided major relaxation in their lockdown rules which have led to some massive growth in sales for every carmaker. Maruti Suzuki in the month of June 2021 made a sale of 1,24,280 units compared to that of 51,274 units in June 2020, translating to YoY growth of 143%.

If comparing the sales of 32,903 units in May 2021 on a month-on-month basis, it gives out an MoM growth of a massive 278%. While the percentage share of the company last month stood at 48.6% against 44% in the same period last year.

Talking about the future projects, the carmaker is all set to make a huge line-up upgrade in the 2nd half of this year with launches and generation upgrades like – Next-gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio which will be making its debut soon in September, followed by a generation upgrade of the old and reliable Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The carmaker will also be introducing the 5-door Suzuki Jimny, which although being available (3-door version) in many international markets even after producing in India.

Seeing the growing demands of the diesel engine in the Indian market the carmaker has finally decided to bring back the previously discontinued diesel engines to various models and the first one amongst them to get this will be the Maruti Suzuki XL6, followed by Vitara Brezza and Maruti Ertiga.
