Yet another month and yet again Maruti Suzuki finished at the top position with dispatching 1,23,016 units in December 2021 against 1,40,754 units during the same period while compared to last year with year-on-year decline or growth of 12.6%.
In the final month of 2021 Maruti Suzuki India limited posted yet again a decent unit count. The largest car producer in the country recorded a 12.1 per cent month on month growth as 1,09,722 units were recorded in November 2021.
Maruti Suzuki led the way with the overall market share of 48.4% as Wagon R finishes off at the top with dispatching over 19,728 units in December 2021 as against 17,684 units last year with a year-on-year surge of 12%. The Maruti Suzuki swift finished at second position with 15,661 units against 18,131 units in December 2020 resulting in negative growth of 14%.
The third position was taken by the Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback. The hatchback registered 14,458 units in December 2021 as against 18,030 units in December 2020 resulting in 20% negative growth. The Maruti Ertiga MPV finished off at 4th position with dispatching 11,840 units against 9177 units during the same month last year resulting in year-on-year growth of 29%.
The entry-level hatchback from the Maruti Suzuki dispatched 11,170 units against 18,140 units getting degrowth of 38%. The Dzire compact sedan finished at 6:00 position with 10,633 units against 13,868 units with 23% growth. The compact SUV Vitara Brezza finished at 7th position with 9531 units against 12,251 units with a decline of 22%.
The Eeco finished at 8th position and the second generation Celerio finished at 9th position. The former dispatched 9165 units against 11215 units with a growth of 18%. The letter dispatched 5656 units against 6660 units getting a decline of 15%. Maruti micro–SUV S-Presso sold 5150 units and saw a decline of 24%, finishing at 10th place.
11th position is taken by Maruti XL6 with 4090 units against 3088 units getting a positive sales growth of 32%. Maruti ignis finished at 12th position with 3209 units and 2% growth. 13th place taken by Maruti mid-size SUV S-cross with 1521 units against 1185 units getting a positive sales growth of 28%. The last position is taken by Maruti Nexa Ciaz with 1204 units against 1270 units resulting in 5% growth.
