Today leaks have been found on the trademark filed by Mahindra on its new upcoming Full-size SUV which will be named the Mahindra XUV900 and will be sitting above its new introduction XUV700 that will be coming later this year. The XUV900 will be competing against a few of the top contender like Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Ford Endeavour and with the end of tie up with Korean company, Ssangyong Alturas G4 will be discontinued.
Although the Alturas G4 was a great car but due to lack of promotion and almost negligible interest by the market the production of G4 came to an end a few months back, now the only G4 left in stock are the ones left with some dealers, and to even sell those out Mahindra is putting up a massive discount of up to Rs. 3 lakhs. And with the break-up with Ssangyong, Mahindra is planning to introduce its own made full-size SUV XUV900 as the alternative to Rexton (Alturas).
As for some of its features mentioned in the leaks, the XUV900 will be coming with features equal to most of its Full-size SUV rivals, like the option to choose either the standard 7-seater option or the comfier 6-seater option which will include 2 captain seats for the mid row. The XUV900 will also be carrying some standard features like a front collision mitigation sensor, 360-degree parking camera, panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control and much more.
As for the engine options, the car will be available in the same 2 options as the XUV700, which are the 2.0-litre stallion turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk Turbo diesel engine, coupled with either a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox, both the engine option will also be carrying an optional 4×4 drive option.
