Mahindra and Mahindra have many new products in their pipeline including the Mid-Size SUV segment, full-size SUV, compact SUV, and fully-electric passenger vehicle. The next big launch for UV expert Mahindra is XUV700, XUV500, and new-generation Scorpio. Recently the manufacturer officially announced that XUV700 an XUV500 comes powered with both petrol and diesel engine along with manual and automatic transmission system delivering power to the all-wheel-drive configuration as an optional on both the SUVs.
The Mahindra XUV700 is the production codenamed of W601, and it could have spawned a ford C-segment if both brands went with the joint venture, which was called off a few months ago courtesy of financial problems. The Mahindra XUV700 will be available in a total of 11 variants and multiple seating configurations and it will slot above the existing XUV500 just below flagship SUV Alturas G4 in the brand’s Indian line-up. The Mahindra XUV700 has a bigger dimension compared with XUV500 courtesy of new architecture and it will be launched in October 2021, and high hopes rest on it definitely.
As per performance, XUV700 comes powered by a 2.2 Litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine, which belts out 185 HP of maximum power and 2.0 Litre four-cylinder mFalcon petrol engine that develops a maximum power output of 190 HP. The powertrain comes coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and an optional 6-speed torque converter with an optional AWD configuration system. Upon, the debut XUV500 will be temporarily discontinued for some time until the new working production-ready model of XUV500 coupe be ready for launch in coming years.
