Mahindra and Mahindra owner Anand Mahindra has tweeted to make a special edition for Neeraj Chopra on winning Gold at Javelin in Tokyo Olympics. While, before the official unveils of the special javelin edition it has been leaked at the production plant. The special javelin Edition features some changes and updates compared to regular models. According to the leaked image, the front grille which featured with new corporate logo and chrome vertical slats is replaced with a gold slat along with the Golden corporate logo. Apart from that, no other changes have been made to the front profile.
However, other highlights remain the same like larger air dam, blacked fort grille, sleek-looking LED DRLs in C-shaped, LED headlamps, silver color skid plates, and so on. While the other leaked image comprises of gold stitching on the dashboard of 87.58m, at which Neeraj Chopra wins a Gold Medal at Tokyo Olympic 2020 along with javelin throw posture. The golden accents have been given to the Midnight Blue exterior paint schemes which are only offered in AdrenoX trims. However, we have expected more golden accents and touches all over the SUV. While the full price list has already been revealed and it is only for the first 25,000 buyers. The base XUV700 MX series starts from Rs 11.99 lakh, while the bookings will commence from 7th October 2021.
Ahead of the start of bookings, Mahindra has divided into two phases. In the first phase, XUV700 will be available in only a limited cities across India and in phase 2 remaining cities. Also, the javelin edition of XUV700 will be launched soon in the Indian market. As for engine options, Mahindra XUV700 comes powered with two engine options – 2.0 Litre turbo petrol and 2.2 Litre Turbo diesel engine. The powertrain comes coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox system. XUV700 is offered in two seating configurations 5-seater and 7-Seater, along with three special packages for AWD, automatic gearbox, and 7-seater configuration for base trims.
