Mahindra and Mahindra increase the price off thar by up to 51,000. Apart from that, the brand has also updated the prices of their other suvs currently on sale in the Indian market.
The brand has increased the prices of its SUV and MPV in the Indian market starting from April 14th, 2022. The brand’s lifestyle off-roader SUV car has also seen a significant hike in unit price worth up to 51,000 depending on the variant chosen. Starting with the petrol variants of Mahindra thar it is now starting with a base price of ₹13.5 lakh and goes all the way up to 15.75 lakh. While the turbo-diesel variants price from rupees 13,88,000 for the base models and goes all the way up to 16,03,000 for the top-end variant.
In the Indian market, Mahindra thar SUV is currently available in 2 engine options first is a 2 liters turbocharged inline 4-cylinder petrol engine which develops 150 HP of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque on automatic transmission and 300 nm of torque on a manual transmission. The second one is a 2.2 liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder diesel engine which develops 130 HP of maximum power and 300 Nm of peak torque.
Both the Indians are available with 6 Speed manual transmission as standard and an optional 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 4-wheel drive system with a low ratio transfer case comes standard on the SUV along with a rare mechanical lock differential. Plenty of off-roader features is available on the thar which is brake locking differentials electronic stability program with rollover mitigation roll cage tire pressure monitoring system and so on. The SUV has an approach and departure angles of 41.8 degrees and 36.8 degrees respectively along with a ramp angle of 27 degrees.
Also, Mahindra thar can be purchased with either a hard Top Model in a soft-top convertible roof. In the Indian market, this SUV has a direct rival with only force Gurkha with another expected to launch in the form of Maruti Suzuki Jimny shortly.
