Luxury is a car segment on its own that covers up many small segments like SUVs, Sedans, Sports cars, Supercars and many other types, and the one which dominates this Luxury car segment is none other than Mercedes-Benz which sold a total of 1,070 units last month August 2021 which is almost twice the sales done in the previous year August where the company only managed to garner sale of 497 units, making the growth of 101% on YoY basis. While its arch-nemesis, BMW wasn’t much behind as the German company made a sale of 692 units last month, which if compared to the sale of 411 units in August 2020 registered a growth of 68%.

Far behind at the third spot is the Tata-owned company Jaguar Land Rover or in short, JLR which made a sale of 237 units last month as against the sale of 115 units in August 2020, translating to YoY growth of 104%. Next in line is another German-based company Volvo which garnered a sale of 103 units last month as against the sale of 93 units last year in August, translating to YoY growth of 39%.

Audi slips to the 5th spot with a sale of only 99 units last month, however, the company recorded a 10 times growth when compared on a yearly basis where the company only registered a sale of 9 units in August 2020. Moving to the costlier and more luxurious brands, Porsche last month registered a sale of 43 units although this might seem a very small number but it calculates to a growth of 500% as compared to last year, while Lamborghini only registered a sale of 8 units with the most sale of Lamborghini Urus. At the last two spots, we have Bentley with a sale of 5 units and Rolls Royce with a sale of only 3 units.
