KIA Sonet has been the most consistent seller of the Indian Automobile market even after being launched when the Market’s condition wasn’t much good as the country was suffering from the pandemic period. Recently Kia announced a new milestone concurred by its compact SUV Kia Sonet of crossing 1 lakh sales within a year, with these consistent sales Sonet has contributed to about 32 per cent of the company total sales in the Indian market and also occupies about 17 per cent of the total share in the segment sales.

In the time period between the launch in September 2020 till July 2021, Kia India Sold a total of 91,706 units while the last bit of sales to cross 1 Lakh units came in August 2021, out of these sales 56,121 sales consists of the petrol variant while the rest 35,585 were of diesel units making a ratio of 61:39.

Sales of its diesel variant comprise of about 10 per cent of the total lot while the top-end variant accounts for about 64 per cent of the total lot. Sonet is the only Compact SUV offering in the Indian market which lets you buy a 1.5-litre diesel engine with automatic transmission.

To date, the car hasn’t received any major update to both its looks or its features while the only update till now has been to its new Kia logo. The car is offered in a total of 17 variants including the Tech line and the GT line, as for the fuel option the car is being offered in 2 petrol variants, which are a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine generating max power up to 83 hp and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating power up to 120 hp.

The 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine is also included in the offering which can generate max power up to 100 hp and peak torque up to 240 Nm.
