  • Kawasaki recently launched Ninja ZX-25R
  • The Japanese manufacturer working on ZX-4R 400cc Supersports bike
  • No technical details haven’t been released till yet about ZX-4R

According to the reports coming from Japan, that Spots bike manufacturer Kawasaki is working on the development of the ZX-4R 400cc Supersports bike, which will make its global debut next year. That being said, the launch and debut timeline hasn’t been revealed by the officials yet, but few publications in japan reported the development of the bike. Last year, Kawasaki made a headline by launching its Ninja ZX-25R globally, which comes powered by a 249-cc engine. The powertrain belts out 51 PS of maximum power at 15,500 Rpm and 22.9 Nm of peak torque at 14,450 Rpm.

However, the manufacturer has a similar project along with similar lines in the development area. Rumors are that Kawasaki is working on 400cc four-cylinder bike codenamed ZX-4R almost similar to the ZX-25R but with a more powerful engine. According to reports, this new engine will be a bored-out version of ZX-25R with new sets of pistons and crank. If the rumors are said to true then ZX-4R will produce more power and lesser torque compared with Ninja 650 and Ninja Z650. The powertrain comes equipped with a 649cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, which belts out 68PS of max power and 64Nm of peak torque.

Other than that, the ZX-4R likely to shares its underpinnings with its siblings like ZX-25R or ZX-6R, and the former sibling is a little reasonable while the latter one is more expensive and designed to handle way more power and torque. However, sharing the design parts with ZX-25R would be more cost-effective and the manufacturer can launch with a more aggressive price range. As of now, these are only rumoring no official statement or concept has been released from the company, while if the bike is in development the chances of debut in India are very low because of the high price tag.
