Fiat Chrysler automobile Jeep, planning to introduce 4 new SUVs in the Indian market to attract more buyers and boost up the decline in sales figures.

Jeep entered the Indian market back in 2017, with their SUV compass. Which was a popular product in the market at that point in time. No new product was offered by the company after that, which affect the buyers and lost interest in the brand. It can show in the brand-wise sales chart, in which jeep performance declining. To turn things around for Jeep in the Indian market, Jeep is investing heavily $250 Million to built new SUVs. Starting from the compass facelift, which will be debut in the Indian market on 7th January 2021.

Jeep’s parent company FCA ( Fiat Chrysler automobiles) confirmed that they will be investing heavily to expand their presence in the Indian market with new 4 SUVs in the coming three years. These will include, compass facelift, 3-row SUV, and a Sub-4m SUV. The compass facelift comes equipped with new interior and exterior updates, includes a large infotainment system, apple car play, android auto,  updated dashboard design, smartphone connectivity feature, redesigned fog lamp housing, updated grille design, etc. The drivetrain options will remain the same as current running, 1.4 Litre turbo petrol, and 2.0 Litre turbo diesel.

Apart from that, a 3-row version of compass also developing and launching in mid-2021. It will offer the same platform and engine options as compass facelift. The company would give it a new design and styling to ensure that it won’t look like a stretched compass. Also, jeep confirmed that they will be assembling Wrangler in India to make it more price friendly and accessible to buyers. As of now, Wrangler is imported with the CBU route, which makes it more expensive for Indian customers. The company plans to launch its upcoming 3-row SUV as a CKD model, which will help the brand to make Wrangler less expensive. the Brand also, developing a product for currently the most popular segment of the Indian market Sub-4m SUV, which they will launch next year in 2022.
