Here we have another Indian Bangalore-based start-up Simple energy launched its first electric scooter in the Indian market with a starting price of Rs 1.09 lakh.

Simple Energy has announced the launch of its first electric scooter Simple one in the Indian market yesterday on the 75th Independence Day of India. It should be noted that a simple one launched on the same day as its direct rival Ola electric launched its first scooter across India with a competitive starting price of Rs 85,000 in New Delhi. Again, simple energy launched its scooter with a starting price of Rs 1.09 lakh ex-showroom, across 13 states in India. Simple one comes offered in four colors – Brazen black, Namma red, Azure blue, and grace white.

The bookings now commenced in the Indian market with a refundable token amount of Rs 1,947. The Simple energy Bengaluru-based start-up has put up its production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The facility has an annual production of one million vehicles in its first phase. Simple one electric scooter rival with the likes of newly launched Ola scooter, TVS iQube, Ather 450X, and Bajaj Chetak EV. Simple energy officials during the launch also stated that more than 300 charging station has been established over 7 months in 13 states.

As for performance, Simple one comes powered by a 4.81 KWh battery pack, which develops a claimed driving range of 203 Km in an Eco mode and on IDC condition 236 Km in a single full charge. While the scooter has a top speed of 105 mph and can sprint from 0 to 50 Mph in just 3.6 seconds and 0-40 Kmph in 2.9 seconds. The Scooter boasts a 7-inch instrument cluster, TPMS, Geo-fencing, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and so on. It has a 30 Litre under-seat storage and rides on 12-inch tires. With two new scooters launched yesterday the EV scooter space has been heated up and in the coming months Hero also going to launch its first EV.
