Hyundai IONIQ 5 revealed a claimed driving range of more than 480 km in a single fully charged battery pack.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 has finally been revealed officially, before that many teaser has been released by Hyundai global last year. IONIQ 5 pays tribute to the 1975 Hyundai pony. The IONIQ started the trend for Hyundai future models of electric vehicle build on the latest E-GMP platform, that would be used to build future hybrid or All-electric in a solo range. The brand has built an EV dedicated E-GMP platform for future endeavors, and IONIQ 5 is the first model in the long list of EVs. As claimed, it can sprint from 0-100 Kmph in just 5.2 seconds that impressive for an EV. IONIQ 5 is a production version of concept 45 showcased at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor show.

It stays mostly the same as the concept version shown as it gets, pop-out door handles, sleeky LED headlamps, blacked-out roof, Minimalistic character lines, 20-inch alloy biggest on Hyundai EV, clamshell-based bonnet, charging option on both sides, and so on. On the other hand, it gets a standard Shark Fin antenna on the roof, high mount rear spoiler, horizontal taillights in a black trim housing that looks futuristic. As for dimensions it measures, 4635 mm in length, 1890 mm wide, and 1605 mm height, along with a longer wheelbase of 3000 mm. On the inside it gets more space, a sliding font console looks same as the Tesla Model S, and a boot space of 531 Litres which can be incised with foldable seats to 1,600 liters.

Along with twin HD displays combined of 12.2-inch, gear selector behind the steering wheel, two cup holders underhand rest, longer legroom for the passenger as well as for the driver, larger glovebox and so on courtesy of E-GMP platform which offers trunk space of 57 Litres in RWD and 27 liters at AWD. Hyundai currently offers IONIQ 5 in multiple variants RWD and AWD options, both variants have a top speed of 185 kmph. For RWD it gets power from a 58 kWh battery pack with a solo electric motor set up, developing 168 HP of maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque, and can sprint 0-100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds. In AWD set up it gets an additional 161 HP courtesy of rear motor, in that combined power output stands at 232 HP and 605 Nm of torque, and it can go from 0-100 kmph in 6.1 seconds, with a bigger 72 kWh battery pack and a rear-wheel-drive inducing motor it generates 215 HP and a 350 Nm of torque. This particular model can go 0-100 kmph in 7.4 seconds.

The Top-trim of IONIQ 5 with a larger battery and all-wheel drive specifications can go 0-100 in 5.2 seconds, with a combined output of 302 HP and 605 Nm of torque. Using a 350 KW charger and 800 V capability, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. The South Korean auto major also stated that it can go up to 100 km in just 5 minutes of charging time. The RWD with a larger battery pack can do 480 KM in a single charge. The IONIQ 5 can be used to charge electrical appliances and it supplies 3.6 KW of power. The First model with the E-GMP platform goes on sale later this year at international markets.
