The Korean manufacturer last year launched the second generation of their premium hatch I20 in the Indian market. Since the launch, the popularity of the hatchback was gaining more and more, which can be seen in the sales volume over the months. And last month was no different as it sold 5,002 units of I20. The Hyundai I20 is the segment king as far as the technology, features, and powertrain are concerned. Hyundai-packed I20 with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital TFT instrument cluster, wireless charging, electric sunroof, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, LED lighting all around, and much more.

However, the Hyundai I20 slips from the second position to the third position in the Top selling premium hatchback segment and at the fourth position in the Top selling Hyundai cars in the Indian market. Hyundai currently, retails its premium hatchback with a starting base price of Rs 6.85 lakh ex-showroom and which goes up to Rs 11.34 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi for the top-end trim. Upon the launch, the hatch goes up against Maruti Suzuki Baleno, tata Altroz, Volkswagen Polo, Honda Jazz, and rebadged version of Baleno Toyota Glanza In India.

As for performance is concerned the hatchback offers three different powertrain options – first is a 1.2 Litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which belts out 83 PS of max power and 115 Nm of peak torque. Second, a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, that rated at 120 PS of maximum power and 172 Nm of peak torque, as well as a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder diesel engine which produces 100 PS of max power and 240 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain comes with a standard 6-speed MT as well as other gearbox systems like iMT, CVT, and much more.
