- Hyundai groupe the global premium of the Alcazar today
- Alcazar comes powered with two engine option
- Alcazar will likely to be priced between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 19 lakh ex-showroom
Hyundai Motors India Limited has hosted the global premium of the much anticipated 3-row SUV Alcazar and it will go on sale from next month. For now, the Korean manufacturer has only revealed the production-ready images and specifications of the car. The SUV is offered in 6- and 7-seater configuration, along with the buyers can choose between two engines, one petrol, and one oil burner engine. The design and architecture of the SUV have plenty of commonalities with the Hyundai 2-row Mid-Size SUV Creta.
Alcazar comes powered with two engine options, a 2.0 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine which develops a 159 PS/192Nm and a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder oil burner rated at 115 PS/250Nm. The 2.0 Litre petrol engine is also offered in Hyundai Elantra and Tucson, but in a better-tuned condition for better power delivery and performance. On the other hand, a 1.5 Litre Diesel engine is borrowed from Hyundai Creta. Both the engine comes paired with 6-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed torque converter. In comparison with Creta, Alcazar has a longer wheelbase of 150 mm long giving plenty of room to access. The best-in-class longer wheelbase is said to give better legroom for the second-row and third-row passengers.
The South Korean major also stated during the unveil that, Alcazar has good stability and control. In the 6-seater layout, the SUV has a central armrest and cup holders for the second row, and the third row can be assessed with a one-touch tip and tumble fold mechanism. The third row can be fully reclined for a better boot space of 180 Litres while Creta has 433 Litres of boot space. Hyundai Alcazar measures, 4330 mm in length, 1790 mm in width, and 2760 mm of wheelbase in length. Hyundai Alcazar likely to be priced between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 19 lakh ex-showroom, and if that’s the case in the future then Alcazar undercuts Tata Safari by Rs 3 lakhs. Hyundai Alcazar competes against Tata safari, MG Hector plus, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV 500(which changes to XUV700 now).
