After tons of leaks, Hyundai has today finally revealed the specifications of the upcoming 7-seater SUV Hyundai Alcazar before the global launch. The car is also being called the 7-seater variant of Hyundai Creta, which truth be told is not entirely false, as both the cars share many features. However, with the specification revealed let’s see is the Alcazar a total copy of the 5-seater Creta or not.
The new Alcazar shares its underpinning with the 2020 Hyundai Creta which is the same platform used in Kia Seltos. However, the Alcazar is a tad bit longer than the Creta, with a length of 4,330 mm the Alcazar stands 30 mm longer than the Creta and even the wheelbase is increased to 2,760 mm providing the car better comfort and stability.
The suspension and tire size of the new Alcazar is also modified a bit. The car now rocks bigger 18-inch alloy wheels equipped with an additional hydraulic rebound stopper in the front strut, which will provide the car with better rebound control and better comfort to the passengers. While the straight vertical shock absorber is be providing better control.
For the interior, the car will be having a similar front design to its 5-seater sibling. The mains difference starts from the 2nd row where you get an option to choose from a regular bench seat making it a 7-seater or a more comfortable 6-seater variation which will add 2 captain seats to the 2nd row, and the third row will remain the same for whatever option you choose. The Alcazar also gets a but a load of features like a 10.25-inch infotainment system with BlueLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, 360-degree parking camera, ventilated front seats, various driving modes, panoramic sunroof and much more.
Talking about the engine specifications, here also the car is slightly different to that of Creta’s powertrain, where the car although gets a similar 1.5-litre Diesel engine, producing 113 hp of power and 250 Nm of torque. However, unlike the Creta, the Alcazar packs a bigger 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 157 hp of power and 192 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
