Hyundai Grand i10 Nios was launched last year as a replacement for the Grand i10 in Indian market. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios rivals with cars like Ford Figo, Tata Tiago, and Maruti Suzuki most loved Swift.

In the latest crash test conducted by Global NCAP for the #safercarsforindia campaign, global NCAP has perform crash tests on fewer vehicles that are currently available in Indian market. Global NCAP performed tests on Kia Seltos, Maruti’s Suzuki Celerio, S-presso, and many more. One of them being the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios which was also tested at NCAP and scored a poor rating of 2 star in both adult occupancy and child occupancy protection test. Out of 17 test points, grand i10 Nios scores 7.14 points for adult occupant protection and 15 points for child occupant protection test out of maximum 49 points. It can be seen that grand i10 Nios scores poor compared to the model sold at the international market.

The vehicle used in the global NCAP crash test was the Sportz variant of Grand i10 Nios. Hyundai currently offers grand i10 Nios with two petrol drivetrains, including a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine and 1.0-liter TGDi turbo-petrol motor. 1.2-liter Naturally aspirated  engine produces 83hp of power with 114Nm of peak torque and the 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine produces 100hp of power with 172Nm of peak torque. These engine options are mated with a standard 5-speed transmission gearbox, while a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine can also be coupled with an automatic transmission gearbox option. Hyundai sells the grand i10 Nios from a starting price of  Rs 5.12 lakh and Rs8.35 lakh (ex-showroom) for top-end variant. 

Grand i10 Nios comes with loads of safety and comfort features like dual frontal airbags, reverse parking camera, emergency stop signal, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors. Other features include projector headlamps, fog lamps, 8-inch infotainment system, android auto, apple car play, a wireless charging system at bottom of the screen, auto climate control, rear AC vents, keyless entry, 5.2inch digital speedometer, iBlue smartphone application, a cooled glove box, and height-adjustable driver’s seat.
