Ford is all set to launch its new Ford Equator in the coming weeks in partnership with Jiangling Motors (JMC) in Chinese market. The car will be sitting priced over the Everest (also called Endeavor in India). Some spied photos of the car have been over the internet showing of all of the car’s features and design truly undisguised.

If we look at its designing of the car it looks commendable and will provide a great road presence to the car. Aside from that the Ford Equator get a huge grille with LED DRLs and turn indicator placed on its sides, significant chrome lining above the grille and on the front bumper, the projector headlamps are placed on the upper ends of the bumper and rock a tri-beam setup, and a faux silver skid plate.

The sides are rather simple with large windows outlined with chrome lining, chrome roof rails, the door handles also gets some chrome finish, the tail lights are rather simple too with Equator badging in the mid above the ford logo on the tail gate.

The interior looks pretty premium with all what Ford has done and 2 most eye-catching things here are the dual-tone white and maroon colour and a huge touchscreen infotainment system + instrument cluster which also looks pretty similar to the setup in the new upcoming XUV500.

The most likely will be available in 2 seating variations first being the normal 7-seater option and a 6-seater option that will be comprising of 2 captain seats for the mid row other than other interior specs. Every thing looks pretty much standard as for the Everest/Endeavor. For the engine options the Ford Equator will be coming in a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine capable of producing a power output upto 224PS, and might be coupled with either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. Will it be coming to India? Most probably no as this car will be Chinese market specific.
