Earlier this month BMW India Motors launched the first locally assembled BMW M340i in the Indian market. The M340i positioned above all the other 3-series variants in the line-up. The vehicle rivals with Mercedes-Benz C 43 Coupe and the newly launched Audi S5 Sportback. And an amazing fact is M340i xDrive is now becomes the most affordable M performance vehicle in the country replacing the Z4 M40i. So, here we put together the Specification comparison between M340i xDrive vs Z4 M40i: –

The BMW latest edition M340i xDrive measures, 4824 mm in length, 1811 mm in width, 1429 mm in height and has a 2810 mm wheelbase in length. While Z4 M40i measures, 4324 mm in length, 2024 mm in width, 1304 mm tall and 2470 mm of wheelbase in length.

While it should be noted that the M340i xDrive is a four-door sedan based in 3-series and Z4 M40i is a two-door convertible coupe. Hence, the M340i xDrive is longer taller and has a longer wheelbase compared with Z4, but the vehicle has 213 mm wider than M340i.

The M340i xDrive features comprise a 10.25-inch infotainment system iDrive touchscreen, voice commands, gesture control, three-zone auto climate control, digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, wireless charging, USB fast charging, 16-speaker of Harman-Kardon audio system, a head-up display, wireless android auto, and apple car play and so on.

On the other hand, the Z4 M40i features, head-up display, front and rear parking display, wireless charging, a 12-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system, active cruise control, BMW’s latest iDrive infotainments system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, launch control, adaptive LED headlights, ambient light, and two-zone Auto climate control.
- Price
The new BMW M340i xDrive priced at Rs 62.90 lakh ex-showroom, offered in a single variant, while Z4 M40i offered at Rs 81.90 lakh ex-showroom. Which makes the M340i Rs 19 lakh more affordable than Z4 M40i.

- Comparison verdict
The newly launch M340i xDrive is a more practical car than Z4 M40i as both the vehicle carries the same engine and the features list doesn’t seem very different as well. While one is a 2-door convertible coupe and another one is a 4-door sedan. Although, BMW claims that M340i xDrive is the quickest car that’s assembled in India.

Moreover, the price gap between the two is big as Z4 is Rs 19 lakh costlier than M340i xDrive. As for our review, M340i xDrive has it all and is more affordable as well.
