The SUV segment is the fastest-growing segment in India with the new cars being introduced every other month, the segment is further divided into 3 subcategories compact, mid and full size in which the most competitive segment is the mid-size segment. The one which rules this Mid-size SUV segment is none other than the Hyundai Creta which has been on the crown for a pretty long time and this time the car has shown a growth of 7% with 12,597 units sold in August 2021 compared to the sale of 11,758 units in August 2020.
Kia Seltos became the first runners-up with the sale of 8,619 units in August 2021 against the sale of 10,655 units in August 2020 translating to YoY growth of -19%. The third entry of this list is the Hyundai Alcazar which has been attracting great sales in just 2 months of its launch, the car last month made a sale of 3,468 units. MG Hector finished up with a 20% growth compared to last year with the sale of 3,276 units against 2,732 units last year.
Next is also the fairly new entry and the only Skoda SUV in the Indian market, the Skoda Kushaq which made a sale of 2,904 units last month. Tata Harrier garnered a sale of 2,743 units last month against the sale of 1,694 units last year translating to the YoY growth of 62%.
