- Mahindra Alturas G4
Starting with India’s SUV experts Mahindra and Mahindra. Mahindra launched Alturas G4 back in 2019, as the flagship model for the Indian market. Alturas G4 was launched to compete against cars like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and BMW X1.
However, it is amazingly packed with a powerful engine, features loaded, plenty of safety features as well. Although, because of the poor marketing Alturas G4 doesn’t perform well in India and failed to compete against segment kings like Fortuner. However, Alturas G4 was the facelift version of Rexton which was sold earlier.
- Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
Back in the 2000s, there are only two king SUVs in the Indian market -One if Endeavour and another is Mitsubishi Pajero. Although, after a long decade company launched a new generation of Pajero in India with an all-new design and added advanced features.
Sure, the new generation Pajero shares the same capabilities as its predecessor but due to lack of marketing and management research, it got failed, and later years brand has left the Indian market.
- Tata Hexa
We aren’t done with SUVs, and yet another SUV which was more capable and loaded with equipment failed due to poor marketing. Tata Hexa was the SUV that can do both – off-roading and can do comfortable longer rides as well. It shares platform and design with its bigger sibling Aria. At the end of last year before the implementation of BS6 emission norms tata discontinued Hexa.
- Maruti Suzuki Baleno Altura Sedan
The next car on the list is Sedan. In the early days, Maruti Suzuki was testing a lot of cars for the Indian market. At that period sedans are a very popular and most selling segment in India. In the middle of all that Maruti unveiled Baleno Altura. Maruti Suzuki Baleno has a good design and looks like a Wagon.
Although, for some time Baleno Altura Station wagon was part of the Indian automobile market. Although, due to low demands and sales figures Maruti discontinued Baleno Alturas back in 2007. Maruti launched Baleno back in 1999.
- Skoda Superb
Skoda Superb is a premium sedan and does not have a direct rival in its range, in terms of price. The latest edition 2020 Skoda Superb is the more powerful and more practical sedan ever given to India by the brand.
The Sedan comes loaded with high-end features, equipment, electronics, and a lot more on safety. Skoda Superb comes powered with a BS6 2.0 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which outperforms its nearest rival Toyota Camry with a huge margin.
- Mahindra TUV300
Mahindra is the only brand that has experimented with its range of SUVs design over the years and TUV300 was part of that experiment. While talking about the looks TUV300 doesn’t attract more buyers towards it but it very well-equipped SUV in the segment. It has great comfort, a powerful engine, Multi-terrain driving modes, and plenty of safety equipment. The TUV300 is a rear-wheel-drive SUV.
Although, Mahindra has now discontinued the TUV300 nameplate and replaces it with a new Bolero Neo nameplate. While not much has changed in the SUV and continues to be powered with a 1.5 Litre three-cylinder diesel engine developing 100 PS of power and 240 Nm of torque. However, both Mahindra SUVs didn’t get the required attention they deserve. And some negative points for Mahindra for not performing the required marketing strategies for these amazing segment-best SUVs.
