Pickup trucks aren’t the most common thing in the country, and with the increasing popularity of lifestyle vehicles such as Mahindra Thar, many companies are thinking of introducing lifestyle vehicle such as pickup trucks, as this segment doesn’t have any competition except for the recently launched ISUZU D-max. here is the list of 5 possible Pickup trucks coming to India in the next few years.
- Hyundai Santa Cruz
The Hyundai Santa Cruz was recently launched in the international markets and is the pickup truck version of the new Tucson. However, the Indian market only has received the older Tucson up until now, the reason can be the poor sales the model is garnering. But if this pickup truck is introduced in the Indian market with an off-roading option of 4×4 wheel drive, this could certainly prove as a potential hit, as the craze of off-roading cars has started to fire up in the Indian audience.
- Toyota Hilux
This Toyota pickup truck is a consideration which the company is planning on introducing to the Indian markets. The Hilux will be built on the same platform as the Innova Crysta and the Fortuner so the prices of this monster can also be tamed, and if we go by the leaks, the Toyota Hilux will be making its way to the Indian markets soon in this year with a launch price of around Rs. 15-16 lakh. And will be powered by the same engine as the Crysta.
- Ford Ranger
This is the vehicle whose speculation of it making its way to the Indian market was on steroids. The Ford Ranger is the truck version of the widely loved Ford Endeavour, while the raptor is its off-roader variant. Earlier it was speculated that the car was coming to India pretty soon as a CBU import, however, the current situation of the company is pretty bad and to overcome this situation company currently is in no mood in taking any risks.
- MG Extender
MG recently launched its new pickup truck, the MG Extender which in terms of design looks far superior to the rest, with its bold and futuristic design this will be a perfect addition to the current small MG lineup. The company could keep the car as a CKD unit to minimize its cost.
- Next-Gen ISUZU D-Max
The company recently launched the new BS6 variant of the ISUZU D-Max however, this wasn’t the latest model made by the company rather a minor facelift. If the demand for the ISUZU truck rises and the company finds it significant then there might be a chance of the Next-Gen ISUZU D-Max launching in the country with a significant price bump.
